Erba
The origins of the various villages that later gave life to Erba are quite ancient. The place was in fact inhabited before the Roman era; the Orobi, Ligurians and Celts would alternate there, but especially the second ones left their traditions here
In the nineteenth century, the area was an important holiday resort in Brianza, as evidenced by numerous patrician villas, still existing today. The city is situated in an area that the lakes of Alserio and Pusiano make attractive.
To visit:
- Church of Sant'Eufemia, a Roman age church with the bell tower dating back to the end of the eleventh century
- The Monument to the fallen soldiers of the First World War by Giuseppe Terragni (about 1930)
- Outdoor theatre "Licinium"
- The "Torre di Incino", remains of an ancient medieval castle
- Palazzo Chiesa Molinari, redesigned by architect Simone Cantoni di Muggio.
- Natural Cave Buco del piombo
- Mountain trails towards the peaks of the Bollettone (or Bolettone), Bolletto (or Boleto) and Panigas mountains, from which you can enjoy an excellent view of the whole Brianza.
- Villa Amalia, a neoclassical villa built in 1801 by the famous architect Leopoldo Pollack; it hosted Ugo Foscolo and Vincenzo Monti.
- A few steps away from the Hotel, Radio Maria, the radio that boasts many more than one million listeners all over Italy
